Outlook Emails Not Being Marked as Read
Hello All,
an executive at my company uses several IOS devices in add-on to a Windows 10 PC with Outlook. All software and OS updates are applied.
Subsequently reading an email on whatever of his IOS devices, the electronic mail does non change to "read" status in Outlook, it withal appears unread.
Outlook on the web shows the correct status of read, which tells me IOS is talking to the Microsoft 365 email servers correctly.
Deleted emails are deleting from Outlook correctly even when deleted from an IOS device.
Emails toggled read/unread in Outlook on the web are reflected accurately in Outlook software.
Then I'm at a bit of an impasse for figuring this out. I'm hoping the customs has seen this earlier!

There is a setting in the Outlook options area.
- 1. Select Mail
- 2. Select Reading Pane
- A menu appears and you tin can choose how the items are marked equally read and previewed.
This would take to be done past the individual user. In one case I had some of my users exercise this I found it worked.
I am non certain how to accomplish this with PowerShell or in a management panel for Office 365.
Are they using the Microsoft Outlook APP or the generic Apple i ?

User reads email in iOS native app. Electronic mail is marked read on OWA and Outlook for iOS, merely remains unread in Outlook full client. Devices range from xiii.7 to 14.0.1.
Opened a ticket with MS and they're trying to arraign Apple. If you're able to open up a ticket it would help raise visibility. At that place's too a thread on MS's forum well-nigh information technology.
I but had a customer ask me the same exact question. Using the built-in iPhone app.
